In the CAD software industry, for the vast majority BricsCAD will do everything that AutoCAD will do and do it in a similar manner! Some argue it will do it much quicker too! Some will also say that it will do it better! Let me put it another way, in your choice of mobiles, are you in the Apple (iOS) camp or the Google (Android) camp? In most cases it will come down to personal preferences or for some its not about functionality but about branding and image! Its very first iteration appeared back in 2001, and its latest, V.21, was recently released! BricsCAD is no “new kid on the block”īricsCAD has been around for an awfully long time. It is not trying to be AutoCAD in the same way that Dyson was never intended to be a copy of Hoover or any other vacuum cleaner in the marketplace. The more I looked at BricsCAD and spoke to users the more I realised that BricsCAD use exists in businesses that also use Autodesk software and does so with seamless interoperability and efficiency.
